About Primordial

Primordial Group was founded in 1992 by Mr. Zahad Thakur and his Brother Jamee Thakur. With their knowledge of apparels, the company established a denim factory and stepped into the garments industry as Primordial Limited (PDL). Under their leadership, Primordial Limited ventured into the European market with Paglie Fashion, a children’s clothing brand based in Germany. The brand was popular in Europe and the US, with an office in Spain.

In 2009, the company stepped into the energy sector as Primordial Energy Ltd. (PEL). Over time, Primordial Energy has become a prominent force in Bangladesh’s power and energy sector.

As of 2021, Primordial Group has four verticals – apparels, energy, properties, and international trade. Established in 2017, the aim of Primordial Properties was to offer contemporary buildings that met current European standards for sustainability, functionality, and aesthetics in both residential and commercial spaces.

Primordial Trade International has been in operation since 2021, dedicated to bridging the gap between Europe and Asia as an agent, undertaking both imports and exports. In 2023, Primordial Trade International will launch their newest project in home appliances, bringing in a renowned brand from Germany to the Bangladesh market.

Family-Owned Business

While Mr. Zahad Thakur is still the chairman, the family-owned business has flourished further with the addition of his daughter, Ms. Delara Thakur, who had joined the company after completing her graduate studies in management and innovation from the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin, Germany. As a second-generation leader, she strives to take the company to newer heights.
